Community Tours

Area Orientation Community Tour

Join us on an Area Orientation Community Tour – where you’ll fall in love with Spokane, the Tri-Cities, Boise, or Missoula – and the surrounding areas of each. Community tours are a great way to introduce newcomers to the area, whether it is for a personal move or a corporate relocation.

Our area orientation tour includes a comprehensive package of information ranging from each city’s history and growth to shopping, dining, business and economic statistics. We deliver this information to our guests’ accommodations the evening before the tour or mail it to you prior to our meeting. On the day of our tour, we spend approximately two hours taking you around town. During this time we review the information provided in the package and assist you in increasing your knowledge of our area and the things of special interest to you.

Our staff is trained to be knowledgeable about the area’s housing market, local recreation, shopping, schools and religious institutions. Our goal is to educate the relocating individual and their family so you will feel confident in your ability to make an educated relocation decision. At the end of our time together, you will feel familiar with your new surroundings and will have made a friend in your tour guide from Wolff Services.

International Employee Orientation Tour

Wolff Services has devised a comprehensive area orientation program to assist you in acquiring a feeling of confidence and excitement about your relocation. Through experience we understand there are many things you may not know about living in the United States. Your comfort and confidence while living in the U.S. is greatly enhanced by having a comprehensive orientation of our customs, our holidays and the mechanics of our day-to-day living. For instance, at least 70% of our foreign guests don’t know how our banking system works. We take the time to explain that and other important things you will find useful in your day to day life.

We also teach you about some of our social customs. For example:

  • What is the difference between a buffet and a cocktail party?
  • Why do people here invite you to dinner, then ask you to bring the salad?
  • When is it customary to bring a gift?
  • We even give tips on tipping.

Speaking of tips, we help you find the restaurants that will appeal to your tastes. On an even more practical side, our service includes instructions on obtaining a new drivers license, getting a social security number or enrolling foreign children in school. We carefully cover all pertinent information on our local emergency services, religious institutions and cultural connections and even take the time to make sure you understand how to use the appliances in your new home.

The level of frustration a foreign guest experiences can be easily minimized through our helpful 2-hour program. Our orientation package covers many details about life in the United States that Americans take for granted.
